A trio of Australian electronic music’s leading lights will offer advice and guidance to up-and-coming music producers as The Aston Shuffle and Uberjak’d sign up as the first ever Budweiser Made For Music Mentors. Unsigned artists will be invited to upload tracks at budweisermadeformusic.com.au, which launches on October 1st 2014. They can receive professional artist feedback and the chance to win opportunities to further their music career, including an exclusive private listening session with Universal Music Australia A&R –the team that has penned record deals with some of the biggest names in Australian dance and hip-hop. The Budweiser Made For Music artist community will also benefit from music industry insights courtesy of Universal Music Australia heavyweights including UMA MD Launch competition.
The website will launch with an exclusive competition which will attempt to uncover Australia’s best underground electronic music talent. Four winning artists will travel to Sydney, NSW, to support The Aston Shuffle at a high-profile venue on December 16th 2014, and attend an exclusive two-day studio workshop session led by The Aston Shuffle and Uberjak’d in 2015. The overall winner will also receive a life-changing opportunity to perform in front of Universal Music Australia’s A&R team and a voucher for $5000-worth of studio equipment with Store DJ. In addition to video tutorials, personal feedback on tracks and competitions, the site will also feature articles to encourage burgeoning talent and inspire creativity. Visitors will have access to regular interviews with established and future stars of the Australian dance scene, exclusive playlists and mixes, technology reviews and regular round-ups of releases, club nights and live gigs. The platform builds on Budweiser’s long-term commitment to support Australian independent electronic music. In late 2013, dance music fans crowned Melbourne brothers Thankyou City the Budweiser People’s Choice and Jono Fernandez won the Budweiser Producer/DJ of the Year Award.
