Straight out of Melbourne, Acrasia are making a name for themselves after a massive 2014. The band has been touring relentlessly in the last 12 months, most recently with the infamous Johnny Craig and his new band Slaves. Now, Acrasia has released their latest EP The Odyssey, which boasts their most mature release to date. A collection of 7 well thought-out tracks, The Odyssey is a unique EP that is like nothing else out there. In 2009, guitarist Nick Ross recruited friends to form Acrasia in hopes to break away from an Australian music scene dominated by trend-followers and write music they wanted to hear. Now a quartet, the guys try not to focus on one specific genre. What makes Acrasia stand out from others is their dynamic, high energy live shows. “Nobody likes going to a show and realising that you might as well have been at home with the record” resigns vocalist Phil Wolfendale. “For us, it’s all about the live show. When people come see us play, every single time, it’s going to be raw and full of emotion. No matter who we’re playing with or how big or small a show is, we want you to experience something. To feel vulnerable, pissed off, ANYTHING; and to know that that’s okay, that’s what makes us human”.
